Gardaí in Ballaghaderreen investigating a fire at a shed at the rear of the business premises in the town on Good Friday have secured CCTV footage of the suspects believed to have started the fire maliciously. Shortly after 7 p.m. on Friday, March 25th a fire broke out at a shed at the rear of a business premises in on New Street in the town. A spokesperson for the Gardaí said it was believed that the fire was started intentionally. “It would appear that a cardboard box was set alright near the shed, which quickly spread to other cardboard boxes in the shed. We believe it was started maliciously,” he told the Herald. Having secured CCTV footage of the suspects Gardaí are now following a line of inquiry. The scene was cordoned off for a number of hours as the scene was forensically examined.
