Night & Day Festival 2026 is set to deliver more than a weekend of music — it is a celebration of community, culture and the deep-rooted heritage of Lough Key and Boyle.
Night and Day takes place from May 29-31st, the Bank Holiday weekend at Lough Key Forest Park.
For generations, Lough Key has been a gathering place for the people of the region. Night & Day continues that tradition, providing a national platform while maintaining strong local ties.
Dermot Beggan, General Manager of Lough Key Forest & Activity Park, said: “There’s huge pride locally in what Lough Key represents. This festival allows us to showcase our landscape, our history and our community spirit to a wider audience.”
Alongside major Irish acts, the festival supports local artists, businesses and tourism providers, ensuring that the economic and cultural benefits are felt throughout Boyle and the wider Hidden Heartlands.
Night & Day 2026 reinforces Lough Key’s role as both a cultural hub and a driver of regional tourism.
The Carolan Collective are also taking part in the Festival this year featuring the music of Turlough O Carolan and other local traditional music composers and songwriters. Several local based musicians and songwriters will feature at this year’s festival on Friday afternoon on the Una Ban stage and there also will be music and Harp workshops on Saturday and Sunday.
The Úna Bhán stage, which replaces the Electric Cave stage, will be hosting an open mic-style event throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday, where festival-goers will have the opportunity to pop into their space to listen or share a piece of music, a poem, a joke, whatever they like.
Night and Day continues to be supported by Roscommon County Council and Coillte in a bid to showcase Lough Key Forest Park to the festival’s growing audience.
Co-founder of Night and Day Craig Hughes said: “We decided to rename the Electric Cave stage as the Úna Bhán stage to tap in even deeper to the rich heritage of our home at Lough Key Forest Park,” he said.
Host of Creatives Roscommon Creative Mic Night Sinéad Byrne Canning said: “We are so excited and grateful for the opportunity to bring Creative Mic Night on tour and share our stage with festival-goers. It is the perfect opportunity for festival-goers to get a taste of on-stage performance in a supportive and intimate setting."
