Network Ireland Roscommon will hold an open evening on this Tuesday, March 24th from 7 to 9 p.m. in Gleesons. This is the perfect opportunity to come along, meet members and experience the network for yourself. This relaxed evening is designed for women in business and professional roles who would like to connect with others locally, build relationships, and learn more about what membership offers. Roscommon Special Olympics would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who supported the scramble held at Roscommon Golf Club on St. Patrick’s Day. Despite very inclement weather there was a wonderful turnout. Thank you to those that braved the elements and played golf and sincere thank you to those that donated on the day. The support and welcome that Roscommon Special Olympics received at the club was heart-warming and overwhelming and all are extremely grateful. This is a big year for the club when 12 of its members will represent Roscommon and Connacht at the National Games in Dublin in June and funds raised from the scramble will be used to fund their participation. Later that evening, all were delighted to welcome members of Roscommon Comhaltas to the clubhouse for a lovely evening’s entertainment to celebrate St. Patricks Day. Wishing Comhaltas every success with the forthcoming Fleadh in Roscommon on the Easter weekend. Thank you to Mary Morris Eternal Giftware Elphin, Molloy’s Bakery Roscommon Town, Michael Cleary, Lady Captain Una Clay, Roscommon Golf Club and Roscommon Seniors Society for their help with prizes, thank you to Marina Cribbon for her help on the day. Easter envelopes are now available for distribution and can be collected in the sacristy before/after all Masses or from the parish office. Many thanks to all who help in the distribution of envelopes.
Congratulations to the young people and adults who received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Kevin Doran last weekend. A special word of thanks to the staff from all the schools for preparing the candidates for the ceremony. Also thank you to the staff and pupils involved in all the choirs.
Apostolic Work would like to thank all the parishioners who continue to support Missionary work. the Easter Chicks are currently on sale supporting thee very worthy projects in The Philippines, Zambia and Malawi. As the requests come in from the religious orders, once again the group is being asked for over 50 Mass kits and as many rosary beads as possible, so if you would like to sponsor an item or have any spare beads the group would be delighted to hear from you. A badminton Easter camp for teenage girls will be held at the mercy College Roscommon from March 30th to April 1st. This camp will be led by a highly qualified coach with experience working with players of all levels, focused on motivating participants, building confidence, and inspiring teenage girls. Whether you’re new to badminton or looking to improve your skills, this is a brilliant opportunity to develop your game, build confidence, make new friends and have fun in a supportive environment.
The GAA and Age Friendly Ireland have announced a new national partnership focused on making GAA stadia, clubs and match day experiences more accessible and welcoming for older people and individuals with disabilities. As part of this initiative, King & Moffatt Dr. Hyde Park, Roscommon is proud to be one of the county grounds across all four provinces selected to participate in an accessibility improvement programme. In support of this work, Roscommon County Board, in collaboration with Roscommon County Council, is inviting members of the public to share their ideas.
Roscommon Harriers have launched their 5km Series for 2026. Again, this year it will be a four race series, held on consecutive Fridays starting on Friday, April 3rd (race starts 7.30 p.m. pick up numbers from 6.30 p.m.) and continues on April 10th, 17th, 24th. Entry can be for full race series (€30 + fees in total), and the race number you get for race 1 will be for the runner to keep and wear in race 2,3 & 4 or on an individual race basis €10 per race. Race headquarters and number pick up at Hannon’s Hotel.
Join Coman’s Swimming Club for a family fun afternoon of Easter Bingo at the Hyde Centre, Roscommon on Friday, April 3rd at 5 p.m.. As this is a child and family friendly event all bingo prizes are fun and not in cash.

This weekend, March 28th / 29th the County Roscommon branch of Multiple Sclerosis Ireland is holding its annual collection at churches throughout the county and hopes for the public’s usual generous support as this is their main source of income. All donations are gratefully received. The branch is indebted to all the collectors who give freely of their time each year to make this fundraiser possible.
