Local notes: Croghan choir hits the right notes

A mega auction night will take place on this Friday, December 1st, in the Four Provinces Lounge, Rathallen, commencing at 8 p.m.. Large number of valuable lots on offer. Proceeds in aid of new playground at Croghan NS. All support much appreciated on the night.
The two Lyrical Locals Shows which took place in The Dock, Carrick-on-Shannon on Saturday, November 25th, provided most enjoyable entertainment to very appreciative audiences. The shows provided a celebration of the musical talent in the Croghan, Drumlion and Cortober areas, featuring the Croghan Community Choir, together with local musicians and singers, and at the same time raise some funds for Roscommon/Mayo Hospice. Great credit is due to the organisers of the shows, to all the participants and also to the many sponsors who donated prizes for a raffle on the night.
Bingo takes place on Sundays in the Patrician Hall, Cortober, at 8 p.m.. All support much appreciated.
The annual St. Vincent de Paul church gate collection will be held this weekend, December 2nd/3rd, at Masses in Croghan, Drumlion and Cortober and and in the Carrick-on-Shannon Area. All support greatly appreciated.
The Old Creamery Community Cafe is now open on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.. All welcome to call in for tea/coffee and sample a variety of home baked cakes, apple tarts, scones, brown bread, etc..
The Roscommon SPCA charity wish to thank all who contributed to its recent church gate collection in the parish. All funds raised go to animal welfare in the county.
