The Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul wish to convey their sincere thanks for your generous response to their recent Mission Appeal. Donations of €1,125 were received which will go directly to the Sisters in Africa for people who are poor and marginalised.
The Elphin and Achonry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine will take place on Sunday, 17th August, 2025. Service of Holy Communion at St. Coman's Church, Roscommon, on Sunday, 17th August, 2025, at 11.30 a.m., Bible Presentation at The Rectory, Roscommon, on Tuesday, 12th August, from 7 to 8.30 p.m..
To mark the 250th Anniversary of the building of St. Coman's Church, Roscommon, Mr Albert Siggins, Secretary of County Roscommon Historical and Archaeological Society, will deliver a lecture "Exploring Our Foundations" during Heritage Week, on Wednesday, 20th August, 2025, at 7 p.m.. It will also include the launce of a a booklet on "Aspects and History of St Coman's Chuch" by Mr Siggins. All welcome. The Church will be open from the 20th August to the 24th August, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. during Heritage Week.

The death took place recently at her home of Mrs Pauline Gibbons (nee Saul), Ballincurry, Kilrooskey, wife of the late Mr Gerald Gibbons News of her passing was heard of with deep regret among her relatives, neighbours and many good friends. . She was predeceased by her brother, John, and sisters, Joanie and Annie May. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Ballagh, and the interment followed in Kilgefin Cemetery. She is survived by her daughters, Mary, Josephine, Eileen and Pauline, sons, Seamus, Gerry, Michael and Desmond, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and other relatives to whom deepest sympathy is extended.
The death took place recently after a short illness at Roscommon Hospice of Mrs Mary Teresa (May) Mulvihill (nee Murphy) of Rathcline Road, Lanesborough, Co. Longford, wife of Mr Joe Mulvihill (formerly of Newtown, Strokestown). A native of Kilteevan, she was daughter of the late Mr Patrick Murphy and of the late Mrs Elizabeth Murhy. She and her husband spent many years residing in the U.K., They then retired back to Ireland and resided in Lanesborough. She was predeceased by her brothers, Martin, Joe and Eddie, and by her sisters, Eileen, Annie May, Delia, Una, Lily and Ann. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Lanesborough, and the interment followed at Strokestown Cemetery. Father Turlough Baxter (Lanesborough) officiated at the graveside. She is survived by her husband, daughters, Elaine (Leicester, U.K.,) and Annette (Lewes, U.K.,), son, Paul (Sydney), son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Suzanne, grandchildren, Tom, Fergus, Olivia, Grace, Louie, Daisy, Alice and Billy, great-granddaughter, Mia, brothers, John and Matty, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives to whom deepest sympathy is extended.

The death took place in Woolich, London on Monday August4 of Helen (Ellen) Cassidy formerly of Mullaghroe, Gurteen. Predeceased by her father Joe she is survived by her Mother Elisha, sister Mary Jordan, Kilmovee, brothers,James, Tommy,and Patrick, Shannon Drive, Gurteen, Michael, and longtime partner Ivor. Funeral on Wednesday August 27 at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, Woolwich. May she rest in Peace.
