Local Notes: Play in Pink Open Day, Music Generation concert and Mass for exam students

A Coffee morning in aid of Mayo/Roscommon Hospice will be held in Gleesons on Friday, May 30th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., please support.
There will be a special Mass for all exam students and their families on Thursday, May 29th at 7 p.m. in the sacred heart church. All are welcome.
The South Roscommon Family Resource Centre is celebrating its 5th birthday on Saturday, May 31st from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. in Lisnamult Community Sports Park, Roscommon Town F42 KP86. A Family Fun Day is being held to celebrate the occasion. There will be lots of activities for all the family on the day including sports and games, arts and crafts, and face painting, workshops, music, food and lots more.
Congratulations to all the children who received their first Holy Communion last weekend.

An Age Friendly Ireland information event will take place in the Kilbride Community Centre on May 29th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.. A wide range of Information stands will be available for viewing from 10.30 a.m.. Special guests on the day include Cathaoirleach Cllr Paschal Fitzmaurice and Paddy Joe Burke, Roscommon’s Age Friendly Ambassador. Representatives from Cathriona Hodgins, Nutrition, the Marie Keating Foundation and Roscommon Sports Partnership will be present. There will also be health checks supported by Vision Express and Croí, the heart and stroke charity on the day. Entry is free to the event and a light lunch will be served.
A Buggy Buddies three week programme will start on Thursday, June 12th, 11 a.m.-12 noon at the Community Sports Park. Buggy Buddies is a physical activity programme for mothers and others to exercise in a safe environment with their babies. The sessions will include a mix of cardio and strength exercises aimed at improving overall fitness. This includes walking/light jogging and a variety of full-body exercises. It's also a fantastic way to get out, meet other parents and build a supportive community.

The annual 'Play in Pink Open Day' takes place at Roscommon Golf Club today, Tuesday, May 27th. Members will be charged €20 and you can book your tee time on BRS. All funds raised on Play in Pink Day go towards the National Breast Cancer Research Institute. Even if you can't play on the day you can include your name on BRS and the fee will be taken from your account. Plenty of prizes on the day and the lady captain will present a prize for the best hat.
A jam-packed day of free creative events has been lined up for Cruinniú na nÓg Roscommon on Saturday, June 7th. Don’t miss this national day of free creativity for young people.

Music Generation Roscommon will bring the concert of the year to The Square in Roscommon Town on Saturday, June 7th. This outdoor performance will feature a collection of bands ready to strut their stuff on stage and showcase their outrageous talents. No booking required just come along and enjoy the show. Suitable for all ages, The Square Roscommon.
A bus is being organised to the mini marathon taking place on Sunday, June 1st 2025 in memory of late Pam Farrell, who for countless years arranged this event.
