The Cornerstone, Frenchpark will be having a bake sale on Friday, June 20th from 10 a.m.. All money will go directly to the IHF. There will be a demonstration of how to use a defibrillator. There will also be blood pressure and pulse checks with one of the IHF nurses.
The annual church gate collection in aid of the assisted pilgrim section of the diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place on Saturday, June 21st and Sunday, June 22nd at all churches in County Roscommon. This year 35 assisted pilgrims from the diocese will travel to Lourdes and all monies collected at church gates will be used to help defray the costs of this section of the pilgrimage. Please support this very worthy cause.

The death occurred peacefully of Mr John Carroll, Buckhill, Fairymount on Tuesday, June 10th last at Roscommon Hospice. In his 80th year, he was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Bridget and his brother, Eamonn. He will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife, Mary; sons, John and Joseph; grandchildren, Joseph’s partner, Emma, sisters-in-law, Ellie (Cunningham) and Margaret (Neary), extended family, neighbours and friends. His remains were removed from The Sharkey Funeral Home, Ballaghaderreen to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Fairymount on Thursday evening last. Following Mass of the Resurrection, celebrated by the local clergy on Friday, June 13th, the funeral proceeded to Fairymount Old Cemetery.
Mr Jack Cunningham, Callow, Frenchpark passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8th last at Roscommon Hospice. In his 98th year, he is deeply regretted his loving family, wife, Teresa; son, James; daughter, Geraldine; sister-in-law, Annette; extended family, neighbours and friends. His remains were removed from the Sharkey Funeral Home, Frenchpark to St. Bridget’s Church, Breedogue on Tuesday evening last. Following Requiem Mass on Wednesday, June 11th, interment took place Kilnamanagh New Cemetery.

Popular priest, Canon Liam Devine, will mark the 55th anniversary of his ordination by celebrating Mass in Kilmurry Church on this Friday, June 20th at 8 p.m.. Afterwards in Kilmurry Hall, refreshments will be served with music by Jimmy Kearney. Following a long and active service, Canon Devine formally retired from the priesthood in 2022 and has been living in Kilmurry. All are welcome.
Western Gaels held its weekly lottery draw on Saturday, June 14th last. There was no winner of the jackpot. The numbers drawn were 2, 5, 23 and 27. Congratulations to Cloonloo NS, winners last week of the small schools’ Cumann na mBunscoil competition.
The death took place at Mayo University Hospital on May 30th of Mrs Philomena Attracta Kelly of Taverane, Cloonloo, Peterborough UK and Knock. She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice. Her remains reposed at the Marian Funeral Home, Knock Saturday going to the Church of John The Baptist for 10.30 a.m. Mass. Burial will take place in Peterborough at a later date. She is survived by her brother, Gerard Kelly; sisters, Ann Higgins and Mary Pannu; nieces and nephews extended family and friends. May she rest in Peace.
The death took place on Monday June 2nd of Mrs Aine Brophy (nee Kelleher), Bray, formerly of Shankill, County Dublin. Daughter of Annie (nee Carberry) Clonsilla and the late Denis Kelleher. Sincere sympathy to her husband, Robert; son, Charlie; sisters Denise, Claire, Sarah and their families. Funeral was on Saturday, June 7th in Shankhill, Dublin.
The death of Mr Tom Feeley took place in San Marcos Texas and the interment of cremains will be after Mass in St. Patrick's Church, Gurteen on Saturday, June 21st. His parents were Tom and Maura of the White House Bar now Roisin Dubh, Gurteen. Sympathy to his wife, Jessica; son, Michael, and wife Miriam, their sons Hugo and Pio, and sister, Ann.
Eastern Harps 50/50 draw held on Monday, June 9th was won by Agnes Perry, Carnacreeva, Keash who won €646. The club is most grateful for all the support each week to assist with the running of the Club.
