Men’s health event in Kilbride centre this evening

Famous Rossie Paddy Joe Burke will be among the guest speakers.
Roscommon LEADER Partnership in conjunction with the HSE Community Healthcare West is hosting an event to mark National Men’s Health Week in Kilbride Community Centre this evening, Wednesday, June 12th, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m..
The aim of this event is to provide individuals and families in County Roscommon and surrounding areas with information and awareness to promote better health among men.
On the evening, there will be the opportunity to have your blood pressure checked, visit the numerous information stands and enjoy the contribution from guest speakers compered by Deputy Editor of the Roscommon Herald, Richard Canny.
Paddy Joe Burke, well known barber and Age Friendly Ambassador for Roscommon who will explain his role and share some of his experiences in business for over 50 years.
Laura Tully, founder and facilitator of ‘Fit Farmers Programme’ will give an insight of specific practical tips for men to promote healthier lifestyles.
Fergus Farrell, motivational speaker and former rugby player will talk about overcoming his own personal battle with traumatic spinal injury.
Adam Woods, Deputy Editor, Irish Farmers Journal, will speak about challenges and opportunities in living in rural Ireland.
To close out the evening the highly acclaimed Roscommon Men’s Choir will sing all out with a repertoire of uplifting songs.
