COFFEE MORNING FOR HOSPICE
The Ballaghaderreen Support Group of Mayo/Roscommon Hospice is hosting its annual Coffee Morning for Hospice at Duffy’s SuperValu on this Thursday, September 21st from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.. Please support.
FLEADH COLLECTION
Roscommon has been allocated the hosting of the Connacht Fleadh 2024. Strokestown will be hosting the event. As part of a Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann fundraising drive for the event a church gate collection will be held in your area on the weekend of September 23rd and 24th. All donations will be very much appreciated.
SOCCER CLUB 50/50 DRAW
The soccer club’s 50/50 weekly draw took place on Tuesday, September 12th at the Community Park Clubhouse. The jackpot of €220 was won by Pauline Henry – seller – Imelda Towey. Next draw takes place on Tuesday, September 19thh at Community Park Clubhouse. LATE MR LUKE FEENEY
The death took place peacefully at his home on September 3rd, of Mr Luke Feeney, Castlemore, Ballaghaderreen. His remains reposed at the Sharkey Funeral Home on Friday, September 8th, with removal to St Nathy’s Cathedral. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated by Fr Paul Kivlehan Administrator St Nathy’s Cathedral on Saturday followed by burial in Kilcolman Cemetery. Luke will be sadly missed by his sisters, Marion, Evangeline, Antoinette and Pauline; brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, great-grand nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends who will miss Luke.
CULTURE NIGHT
Culture Night will be celebrated in Carracastle Community Centre on Friday, September 22nd, at 8 p.m. with award winning musicians, storytelling and a short film showcasing traditional crafts. Entry is free and all are welcome to attend. The celebrations will continue afterwards in Davey’s Bar, where there will be more music and food available.
GAA 50/50 DRAW
This week’s Ballaghaderreen GAA 50/50 draw was held at Durkin’s Bar, The Square. The jackpot of €645 was won by James Rushe, Dalton Terrace. Seller - Imelda Towey’s. The next draw will be held on Sunday, September 24th at the Old Forge Inn, Cloontia. Your support of the weekly draw is greatly appreciated. Weekly tickets are on sale in shops and businesses throughout the town. An annual 50/50 ticket, giving entry into every draw in the year is available for €90 from committee members. Weekly tickets can also be purchased online through the Ballaghaderreen GAA Facebook page.

RECENT DEATH
The death took place on September 12th at Mayo University Hospital of Mr Jimmy Lavin, Market, Swinford and formerly of Branchfield, Ballymote. He was uncle of Margaret Mullaney, Mullaghroe, Gurteen. Sympathy to Margaret and to all Jimmy’s family and friends. May he rest in Peace.
CLOONLOO COFFEE EVENING
Cloonloo’s annual coffee evening for North West Hospice will be held in Cloonloo Hall on Saturday evening after 7 o’clock Mass. Support would be appreciated.Credit to the Hall Committee for recent works - kitchen and units newly painted and also the toilets.Well done to all.
