BOOK CLUB

A book club meets on the last Monday of every month at Boyle Family Resource Centre. At the January meeting there were plenty of opinions on the table and some lively discussion, but one thing was certain, no matter our individual opinions, American Dirt left a lasting impression on all. After coffee and biscuits, members turned their attention to the next few months and selected reads for February and March - Sisters: February- A story of four sisters, a tragedy, and what happens when four very different young women are brought together under one very lively roof.

Demon Copperhead: March Demon’s story begins with his traumatic birth to a single mother in a single-wide trailer, arriving into the world “like a little blue prizefighter.” Growing up in the southern Appalachian Mountains of Virginia—where poverty is as natural as the grass—he will need every ounce of his fighting spirit, along with his charm, sharp wit, and unexpected talents, both legal and otherwise.

BOYLE LADIES CELEBRATE

Boyle senior ladies team came together for the presentation of the Div 1 league and senior championship medals and to celebrate their successes in 2025. Winning the Div 1 senior league in July for the first time in the history of the club was a very special occasion and means that Boyle ladies now have won every league and championship competition at adult grade in the 20 short years the club exists. This is a true testament of the commitment and motivation of players as well as all the coaches and backroom helpers who have supported the players down through the years. Congratulations goes to Michaela Ward - 2025 Player of the Year. Boyle LGFA Committee extended their thanks to out-going manager Pat Leonard and his coaches who have been the driving force behind this exceptional group of players. A special word of thanks to Boyle Golf Club who kindly gave the use of their facilities for the event and to Corrib Oil, team sponsor for 2024-2025.
