The death took place recently at his home, Stracomer View, Bundoran, County Donegal, of Mr Desmond Gibbons. A native of Ballincurry, Kilrooskey, he was son of the late Mr Gerald Gibbons and of the late Mrs Pauline Gibbons. News of his sudden passing was heard of with deep regret among his relatives, neighbours and many good friends. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Ballagh, and the interment followed in Kilgefin Cemetery. He is survived by his siblings, Mary, Josephine, Eileen, Seamus, Gerry, Pauline and Michael, his close friends, Aidan, Brendan and Darragh, god-daughter, Codie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives to whom deepest sympathy is extended.
The death took place recently at Shannon Lodge Nursing Home, Roosky, of Mr Hubert (Bertie) Fallon of Cordrumman, Scramgoue, husband of the late Mrs Christine Fallon. He was a native of Ballyhubert, Scramogue. He had resided for many years in Bristol, UK. On retirement he returned to his native Scramogue. News of his passing aged 94 years was heard of with deep sadness among his relatives, neighbours and many friends. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mrs Ellen Young, Mrs Kate Keana and Mrs Mary Jane Cox, and by his brother, Mr Sonny Fallon. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Anne's Church, Scramogue, and the interment followed in the adjoining cemetery. He is survived by his son, Colin; daughter, Mrs Jayne Doorley (Ardikillan); son-in-law, Tom; grandchildren, Mrs Louise Greene (Anthony), Mrs Chrisstine Casey (Stephen), and Frances Doorley (Gerry); great-grandchildren, Nathan, Keith, Jamie, Shauna, Aidan and Chloe, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grandnephews and other relatives to whom deepest sympathy is extended.

The death took place recently at her home, 23 Henry Street, Roscommon, of Mrs Margaret Hoare (nee Kane), wife of the late Mr Michael (Mick) Hoare. A native of Bruse, Arva, County Cavan, she was the last surviving member of the family of the late Mr Pat Kane and his wife, Mollie. Her family came to reside in Strokestown while she was a young girl. Over the years they immersed themselves in the social and sporting life of the town and area. Always hardworking and industrious, she was a popular member of the community where she had many friends. She never spared herself in making sure that her family has all the opportunities they could wish for in life. News of her passing was heard of with deep sorrow among her relatives, former neighbours and friends. She was predeceased by her siblings, Michael, Mary, Annie and Pat and infant Catherine Kane, and by her half-brothers, John, Seamus, Peter and Francie Comiskey. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon, and the interment followed in St. Coman's Cemetery. She is survived by her children, Kitty (Manorhamilton), Pat (Castlebar), Michael (Doonbeg), Marie (Mullingar), Paul, Teresa, Declan, Dervla, Shane and Sinead (Roscommon), children-in-law, Gerry Hickey, Bernie Morrissey, Kevin Kelly, Una Ni Chuinn, Anthony McCormack, Anne Hardiman, Noel Beattie, Sharon Mulryan and John Flanagan, 23 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives to whom deepest sympathy is extended.
The death occurred peacefully on December 18th, in the loving care of her family and staff of Thomond Lodge Nursing Home, Ballymahon, of Mrs Harriet Cox (nee Walshe), Church View House, Kilglass. Predeceased by her husband, Austin, parents, Peter & Siobhan Walshe, her brother John and her son-in-law Ross, she will be sadly missed by her family, son, Tom; daughters, Siobhain, Avril, Linda and Shirley; sisters, Helen and Joan; daughter-in-law, Carmel; sons-in-law, Adrian, Jerry and John, grandchildren, Billy, Andrew, Alexandra, Austin, Brad, Lucinda, Genevieve, Mark, Adrianna, James, William, and Charlotte; great-grandchildren, Theodore, Elliot, Victoria Harriet, Summer and Seanna, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Following Funeral Mass on Sunday, December 21st, burial took place in Kilglass Cemetery.

In the Kilglass Gaels Lotto held on December 27th, the numbers drawn were 2, 10, 16, 19, Bonus Number 15. There was no jackpot winner.
