Two people appeared in court charged with the murder of Barry Furfey in a flat in Lisburn on Monday.

Barry Furfey, 42, died in hospital on Monday after being discovered seriously injured.

A man and a woman are being questioned in police custody over the 42-year-old’s death.

The 42-year-old died in hospital on Monday morning following an incident in the Wardsborough Road area of the city.

Police have appealed for information about the incident in Lisburn, Co Antrim, on Saturday.

The man was found in the early hours of Saturday.

John David Scott (36) was sentenced at Belfast Crown Court.

The Armed Response Unit eventually brought the vehicle to a stop on the M1 near Lisburn.

He is due to appear before Lisburn Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
