The arrests were part of an operation targeting an organised crime group.

A man and woman, aged in their 60s, were arrested after gardaí seized €342,000 in cash at Dublin Airport on Wednesday evening

The seizure was made by personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau after they intercepted two vehicles shortly before 5pm on Thursday

Minister for Justice Helen McEntee on Tuesday is due to brief the Cabinet on Cab’s progress and also her plans to significantly increase the capacity of the bureau.

They are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin on Monday morning.
