João Henrique Ferreira, 24, who had lived in Ireland for five years, had been assisting friends in locating a stolen bicycle when the incident allegedly occurred on a slip road to the motorway in Tallaght, Dublin.

In total 70 vehicles were seized by the sheriff in 2024 through the civil process in the courts.

Following the collision, a man in his 20s was arrested and has now being charged.

It happened on the M50 near Finglas when two gardaí, a man and a woman, responded to a single car crash.

Michael Casey, 28, was charged with 17 counts of dangerous driving during the alleged chase from St Aidan's Church, Tallaght, to Woodhaven Golf Club, Bray, Co. Wicklow, on Saturday afternoon.
