There were violent scenes in the area after the Government announced plans to repurpose the building to house international protection applicants.

Three men, aged in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, were arrested by gardaí on Monday in connection with an investigation into the serious public order incident in Coolock, Co Dublin, last year.

Philip Dwyer, who told gardaí at the scene that the case would be "thrown out of court", was found guilty of failing to comply with a direction to leave the area.

There has been unrest in the area since the government announced plans to use the disused factory to accommodate hundreds of international protection applicants.
