The prospectus for Israeli bonds has been approved by Luxembourg.

Demonstrators gathered outside the Central Bank in Dublin to demand an end to the authority’s role in approving Israel bonds for sale in the EU.

The judicial review was formally issued on Thursday afternoon.

The Central Bank is the designated authority in relation to the sale of Israel Bonds in the EU.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin countered that no-one in the Dáil should be looking for ‘a pat on the back’ on Palestine.

They have called for new legislation that would give Ireland the power to refuse their sale over human rights concerns.

The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign accused the Bank of enabling a genocide in the Gaza Strip by authorising the sale of the bonds
