Legislation for the ban will be known as ‘Grace’s law’ after teenager Grace Lynch, who died following a crash involving a scrambler bike in Dublin.

Darragh O’Brien is now proposing new regulations for a total ban on scrambler use in public spaces.

Gardaí seized the vehicle under Section 109A Road Traffic Act 1961 as amended.

Grace Lynch died after being hit by a scrambler motorbike as she used a pedestrian crossing on Ratoath Road in Dublin 11, on Sunday afternoon.

Charlie Joyce died in hospital hours after colliding with another scrambler bike in Ballymena in June 2022.
