Michael Lynn SC said Lorenzo Cantaragiu’s time in prison has been “particularly difficult” and there have been threats to him and to his family.

Lorenzo Cantaragiu drove Mr Ilyas’s murderers Viorel Doroscan (23) and Otrniel Richardo Clejan (24) to a wooded area in Co Meath where the two killers left Mr Ilyas (22) for dead.

Garda Dermot Sloane told the jury that the two figures carried “a red object” containing the deceased to the car that was parked at apartments in Verdemont in Blanchardstown.
