The Tánaiste joined Public Expenditure Minister Jack Chambers as they jointly published the Government’s Summer Economic Statement on Wednesday.

The Tánaiste, who is also the Finance Minister, was speaking ahead of the publication of the summer economic statement.

The Public Accounts Committee report has called for a response from the Government within three months.

Simon Harris said the decision to invest more in education ‘is a really good one’.

There was a €2 billion improvement in the Exchequer surplus at the end of 2025 when receipts from the Apple tax ruling were excluded.
