Two passengers who were on the virus-hit MV Hondius were flown home to Ireland on Sunday.

The aircraft flew to and from the island from Baldonnel Aerodrome on Sunday.

The two Irish passengers are said to be ‘well’ but will have to quarantine when they return to Ireland.

The Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs has said two Irish passengers on the MV Hondius are ‘safe and well’.

The Taoiseach said the Irish Government will ‘do everything possible’ to bring Irish citizens home safely.

Two Irish nationals are among the passengers aboard the MV Hondius, which is currently en route to the Canary Islands following the deaths of several passengers from the Hantavirus.
