Reports were made of a firearm being discharged at two residential properties in Ballinasloe at around 3:50am.

A man in his 70s was taken to hospital

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a number of shots were discharged from a firearm in Ballinasloe in the early hours of this morning. The incident happened at a residential property in the Garbally Oaks area of the town at approximately 3 a. m.
