Aldi gets greenlight for Boyle store

Aldi has been given the greenlight for its store in Boyle by An Coimisiún Pleanála subject to conditions, it has been reported.

Earlier this month, the Herald reported that the case was with the planning commissioners for a decision.

In January, Roscommon County Council approved the Patrick Street development, which would see the construction of the discount foodstore, with an off licence, the demolition of derelict structures and the repair and refurbishment of the terrace to provide five residential dwellings. The development was given the greenlight subject to 36 conditions, and it was subsequently appealed to the planning regulator.

A petition in support of the development has been signed by hundreds of people.

Both Aldi and An Coimisiún Pleanála have been contacted by the Herald for comment.
