Armed Support Unit involved in operation in County Roscommon village

The Garda’s Armed Support Unit (ASU) were in Frenchpark village this morning.

One has man been arrested following a drugs investigation at a house in the village of Frenchpark earlier this morning, Friday.

Roscommon gardaí were supported by the assistance of the divisional drugs unit and the Garda’s Armed Support Unit (ASU). 

Investigations are ongoing.

A Garda spokesperson said that as part of ongoing investigations into the activity of an organised criminal organisation, gardaí based in the Sligo-Leitrim Garda Division are carrying out a number of searches in the Garda North Western Region.

"Investigating gardaí are being assisted by regional and national specialist units. As this is an ongoing operation, An Garda Síochána has no further comment at this time," said the spokesperson.
