Award winning cafe to close 'effective immediately'

A popular and well known County Roscommon cafe is to close “effective immediately”, due to rising costs.

Athleague business Les Petites Tartres announced this afternoon that it will close immediately.

“It comes with great sadness that Les Petites Tartres will be closing its doors, effective immediately,” a post on social media by the owners said.

“We have been left with no choice, with continued rising costs and pressures in today’s climate, it is just unsustainable to continue trading. We thank you all for your business and support over the last 3 years, it has meant the world to us.

“This decision hasn’t come lightly, but as there is a complete lack of support for small businesses in rural Ireland like ourselves, it leaves us with no choice.”

Known for its delicious desserts and quality menu, Les Petites Tartres won the Best Café in County Roscommon Award at the Connaught Regional Irish Restaurant Awards in 2023.
