Breegeen tops the poll and gets a surprise along the way

A Carrick-on-Shannon woman was on top of the world today, celebrating her 100th birthday, casting her vote surrounded by her family and getting an extra special surprise when two of her grandchildren flew in from Australia for the special occasion.
Breegeen Monaghan from Carrick-on-Shannon celebrated her 100th birthday on polling day and took time out to cast her vote in the local school.
Breegeen was joined by her daughters Bernadette, Ann and Marese Monaghan, and sons Aidan and Brendan Monaghan.

She also got a big surprise when two of her grandchildren, Rory and Clíodhna King, flew in from Australia to celebrate her 100th birthday.
