Carrick-on-Shannon entrepreneur hoping to impress the Dragons!

A Carrick-on-Shannon publisher who has created a pioneering magazine for children with disabilities will appear on BBC’s Dragon’s Den programme tomorrow evening, Thursday.
Leitrim native Stephen Keane is a former primary school teacher and founder of award-winning News Mag Media Ltd in Carrick-on-Shannon, which publishes news magazines for primary school pupils.
Stephen will be bidding to secure investment from the famous Dragons for his venture, ‘The Fact Factory’, an audio-print magazine series.
The series is written and recorded to cater for readers with print disabilities such as dyslexia and visual impairment, as well as reluctant or struggling readers.
The project was inspired by a nine-year-old girl Laurel who lost her eyesight due to cancer.
Stephen's News Mag Media company publishes the curriculum-linked monthly news magazines The Primary Planet, News Flash and Eipic, which are used in more than 600 primary schools across Ireland.
The Dragon’s Den episode airs tomorrow evening, Thursday, on BBC 1.
