The late Ronan Healy passed away five years ago.

A charity fundraiser to remember a popular North Roscommon man and former GAA player will take place in his native Ballyfarnon this weekend.

The “Run for Ronan” will remember the late Ronan Healy who lost his life in a road traffic collision on the N15 in County Donegal in 2021.

The remembrance run/walk 5K will get underway from Ballyfarnon on this Saturday, September 12th, at 3 p.m., with a function later that evening in the Innisfree Bar, Ballintogher, County Sligo, where Ronan lived with his wife Diane and their young son Caolán, who is now six years old.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will be given to the Sunflower Children’s Hospice.

Ronan plied his trade with St. Ronan's GAA Club where he is still sorely missed by team-mates, club members, family and friends.

People can donate to the fundraiser here.
