Child suffers serious injuries after Westmeath road traffic collision
Anyone with information on a road traffic collision in County Westmeath that left a child in a critical condition on hospital is asked to contact any Garda station.
A child has suffered serious injuries and is in a critical condition in hospital following a road traffic collision in County Westmeath on Wednesday evening.
The collision involving a pedestrian and a car occurred on the L6821 Killallon Road, Clonmellon, shortly before 7.30 p.m..
The pedestrian — a female child — was airlifted to Temple Street Children’s Hospital for treatment where her condition remains critical.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling in the area between 6.45 p.m. and 7.45 p.m. on Wednesday are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
