The sight of the balloons in the sky, as part of the Irish Hot Air Ballooning Championships, has been thrilling young and old alike over the past couple of days.

After a shaky start over the weekend, the weather has played ball over the past couple of days and the colour and the fun have been enjoyed by hundreds of people who have visited the park each morning and evening.

Due to the large crowds An Garda Síochána remind all visitors that illegal parking along access roads into Lough Key is a serious health and safety risk, particularly to children and other pedestrians.

People are reminded over the next two days that the hot air balloons will only fly if weather permits. This decision is only made within the hour of scheduled flight time.
