St. Brigid’s Community Choir is hosting a springtime concert on Saturday, April 18th at 8 p.m. in St. Brigid’s GAA Club.

The St. Brigid’s Community Choir is hosting a springtime concert on Saturday, April 18th at 8 p.m. in St. Brigid’s GAA Club.

The concert will also feature the Ballinasloe Town Band and Ballybay National School Choir.

Contributions from the proceeds will be made to the Athlone Sub Aqua Club and Kiltoom and Cam AED Groups. Tickets are €15 (family rate of €50 for 4).

The St. Brigid’s Community Choir was formed in 2013 to provide all interested members of the community and surrounding areas with a social outlet, and an opportunity to pursue their interest in singing. It was also in recognition of the well-established psychological benefits of group singing.

Members continuously refer to the enjoyment they derive from being involved, with many claiming it was “the best thing they have ever done”.

Musical director, Andrius Kozlovskis,encourages a great sense of enjoyment through his undoubted love of music and his inspiring leadership.

The choir has now approximately 45-50 active members.

In addition to the concert, the choir is hosting an open night on Wednesday, April 22nd at 8 p.m. in St Brigid’s GAA Club to welcome any new prospective members who might wish to join.
