The council are due to take possession of the property.

Roscommon County Council is to take possession of the Old School House in Glanduff, Kiltoom.

The council recently published a newspaper notice issuing a "vesting order”, stating their intention to take over the property under the 1990 Derelict Sites Act.

This legal action transfers ownership of a neglected or abandoned property to a local authority.

The former schoolhouse in South Roscommon sits on a site of 0.6 of an acre and the council will officially own the property from June 25th.

Anyone who has an ownership interest or rights immediately before the order was issued can apply to the council for compensation. They must apply within 12 months of the order date.
