Tremane GAA club has got the planning go-ahead for a major pitch development, which includes a new astro turf pitch.
Along with the 600 square metres astro pitch, Roscommon County Council has also granted permission for the installation of 21 floodlights at the existing sand track facility, a new electronic scoreboard, and the installation of a 72 square metres storage unit for sports equipment.
Five conditions are attached to the planning permission.
One of them includes the need to produce a site specific lighting scheme for the development, along with any measures to be undertaken, where appropriate, in order to prevent undue glare and light spillage.
