A County Roscommon man and his wife will feature on an episode of the hit RTÉ show the ‘Great House Revival’, tonight Sunday, April 19th.

David Shannon from Roscommon Town and his wife Eleanor, originally from the Philippines, are renovating the Old Presbytery in Caltra, County Galway.

The house requires significant repairs with major jobs like serious dampness, rot and mould to be tackled. David takes the technology route to DIY upskilling by using AI and YouTube tutorials. Healthcare worker Eleanor gets first-hand training in lime plastering

The newlyweds applied for the show for fun and were surprised to be selected. They fell in love with the property and were starstruck when they met the late Hugh Wallace.

The couple experienced unexpected issues throughout renovations but overall loved the experience. Although they are nervous for tonight’s episode, they are looking forward to seeing it.

You can see the episode on RTÉ One tonight, Sunday, April 19th at 9.30 p.m..
