County Roscommon to feature on Nationwide

The ancient landscape of the Rathcroghan area will feature on tonight's (Monday's) Nationwide programme on RTE One at 7 p.m..

The programme will explore the ancient landscape of the Tulsk area containing over 60 protected monuments along with over 5,500 years of settled farming history.

For a number of years, bids to secure UNESCO World Heritage status have been made for the ancient  Rathcroghan historical site.

Concerns were raised in June in relation to a proposed wind farm development in the area, which may harm future UNESCO status bids.
