County Roscommon woman honoured at An Post retirement function

An Post Social Club, Carrick-on-Shannon hosted a recent function in Cryan's Hotel to mark the retirement of Ann Gormley, Veronica Smith, John Burke and Tom Flanagan in the past year.
Ann Gormley, Elphin was based in Carrick-on- Shannon for over 20 years, was branch manager for the past ten years and also previously worked with An Post in Castlerea.
Veronica Smith, Ballinamore started her career with the Post Office in Dublin, then transferred home and has delivered to the people of Derrada for the past almost 40 years.
John Burke, Cloonfad started his career delivering in the Mohill area in the mid-nineties, covered many different routes since and has delivered to the people of Bornacoola for the past almost 10 years.
Tom Flanagan, Mohill started locally in the early eighties where his wife Mary is postmistress and has worked across the Carrick-on-Shannon postal district over the years, finishing up more recently in the Drumshanbo area.
