Decision due on housing development in the county

A decision is due tomorrow on a new housing development in the county.

On January 18th the council received a planning application from S Doyle & Sons Roscommon Ltd for 19 houses at Abbeytown, Ardnanagh, Roscommon Town. The lands are located to the west of the N63, and include the former Roscommon Tile Centre.

The proposal would see four one bed own door maisonettes, contained in a single two-storey block; two two-bed, semi-detached bungalow houses; nine three-bed, semi-detached, mid terrace and end terrace houses; and four four-bed, semi-detached houses.

The proposed development also includes approximately 1,340 sqm of public open space; 37 car parking spaces; a vehicular and pedestrian entrance from the N63 with associated junction upgrade works; and an additional pedestrian only entrance from the N63.
