Driver hospitalised with critical injuries following serious road collision
Local gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision yesterday.
At approximately 10:15pm Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the collision between two cars at Kileenduff, Easkey, County Sligo.
Both drivers, a female and a male in their 40s, were taken to Sligo University Hospital where the female’s condition is described as critical and the male is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The road is currently closed for a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place. Investigations are ongoing
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R297 at Kileenduff, Easkey, between 9:45pm and 10.30pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
