Eleven wind turbines are being planned for West Roscommon, it has emerged.

Eleven wind turbines are being planned for West Roscommon, it has emerged.

Carraigin Power Ltd. is holding a public information meeting regarding a proposed renewable energy development, “comprising approximately 11 wind turbines and associated infrastructure” in the Ballinagare/Elphin area.

The development is being proposed across the townlands of Cloonshanville, Leggatinty, Ballynahowna, Carrigeenynaghtan, Gortnacloy, Carrigeen and Edenan and Kinclare.

The proposals include underground grid connection cabling following the public road network and connecting to the existing Flagford Substation.

A public information meeting will be held in the Ballinagare Health & Leisure Centre on Thursday, November 6th between 4.30 p.m. and 8 p.m..

Information in relation to the proposal will be on display with project representatives in attendance to answer any questions.

Carraigin Power Ltd say the meeting, which it describes as a “public information exhibition”, is open to all interested parties.
