ESB apologises after sudden power outage in the county this morning

The ESB has apologised for a power outage this morning that affected thousands of customers in the county.
ESB Networks confirmed to the Herald that a power outage occurred at approximately 8:40 a.m. which, at its peak, affected 13,000 customers in areas of South Roscommon.
“During maintenance work which was being carried out by our crews, a fault developed on the network causing the loss of supply,” a spokesperson said. “ESB Networks crews took immediate action to identify the fault location and repair the issue. All customers had their power restored within one hour of the fault occurring.”
The ESB apologised to those impacted for the inconvenience caused.
