Roscommon Safe Link has officially opened its first dedicated safe house, providing secure, short-term accommodation for individuals and families affected by domestic violence and abuse.

The facility marks a major milestone in the organisation’s efforts to provide low risk accommodation.

The vision is to provide a further two safe houses as soon as possible.

“Our goal is to make the transition from crisis to stability as smooth as possible for our clients. Residents receive not just accommodation but guidance on safety planning, accessing legal services, and preparing for life after their stay. Every step is designed to empower them to regain control of their lives,” said a spokesperson for Roscommon Safe Link.

Meanwhile, the long-term plan to provide refuge accommodation is in progress.
