Foul play not currently suspected following the discovery of a body

Foul play is not currently suspected following the discovery of a body in Carrick on Shannon yesterday, Gardaí have said.
Gardaí in Carrick-on-Shannon, along with local emergency services, responded after the body of a man in his late 50s was discovered on the afternoon of Sunday February 4th, on lands at Liscara, Carrick-on-Shannon.
His body has been transferred to the mortuary at University Hospital Sligo for a post-mortem examination.
“The local coroner has been informed, and the results of the post-mortem will guide the direction of the Garda investigation,” Gardaí have said.
