Funding of €30,000 has been approved for safety improvements at the L1230 junction in Lisacul.

Funding of €30,000, under the Low Cost Safety Scheme, has been approved for safety works at the L1230 junction in Lisacul Village.

Welcoming the funding, Cllr Nigel Dineen said the junction had been the subject of ongoing local concern in relation to road safety.

The Independent councillor said that he had previously met on site with Tom Coleman of Roscommon County Council and members of the local community group to assess the issues raised and examine the layout of the junction.

Cllr Dineen outlined that the funding represented “a positive outcome for the village and will help enhance safety for motorists, pedestrians and all road users in the area”.
