Gardaí investigating discovery of a body in County Mayo

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a man in Castlebar, County Mayo, earlier on Thursday.

Shortly after 9 a.m., Gardaí and emergency services were alerted after a male in his thirties was found unresponsive at a residential property in Castlebar. He was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.

The Coroner and Office of the State Pathologist have been notified and the scene remains preserved.

A post-mortem examination will be arranged and the outcome will determine the course of the Garda investigation.
