Garda Youth Awards to honour outstanding achievements

This year’s Garda Youth Awards, organised by An Garda Siochana Longford/Roscommon and supported by Roscommon and Longford County Councils, take place on Tuesday, October 6th at Roscommon Arts Centre.
Each of this year’s four category winners will be presented with a specially framed commemorative scroll, a crystal trophy as well as a One-For-All voucher. The winners will also advance to the national finals of the competition which take place later this month.
Speaking ahead of this year’s event, Roscommon-Longford Garda Youth Awards chairperson Inspector David Cryan said the awards celebrated outstanding young people and recognised the excellent work being carried out by such individuals.
Chief executive of Roscommon County Council Shane Tiernan said “the award winners demonstrate that there are inspiring young leaders in our communities who inspire and encourage others”.
