HSA investigation underway following death of man in workplace accident
The accident occurred on Thursday evening.
A Health and Safety Authority (HSA) investigation is underway following the death of a man in his 60s in a workplace accident on Thursday evening.
It is understood that the man was working on a closed section of the Athlone road leading into Ballymahon in County Longford when he was struck by a works vehicle shortly after 7 p.m on Thursday evening.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road at the scene was closed while a technical examination was carried out, but has since re-opened.
