Hundreds still without power in County Roscommon

Hundreds remain without power in County Roscommon
Hundreds of people in the county have been days without power since Storm Darragh on Friday night.
Parts of the county were very badly affected including Elphin. The onset of the cold weather has also been very unwelcome for people trying to heat their homes.
The ESB confirmed to the Herald that as of 15:30 today, Tuesday December 10th, there are approximately 1,500 customers without power across the county.
“Due to the severity and significant scale of the damage some customers could be without power for approximately a week from when the storm hit,” a spokesperson said.
“We acknowledge the disruption to family and commercial life this causes, and thank customers across the county, especially those who remain without power, for their patience as our crews work to safely restore power.”
Technicians from NIE (Northern Ireland Electricity) Networks are also to be dispatched to areas of Leitrim and Roscommon to assist in the restoration.
