A 31-year-old woman was given a three month prison sentence for theft at a recent sitting of Strokestown District Court.

Lisa Nevin, with an address at 67 McEoin Park, Longford, but now in custody serving a sentence, appeared before Judge James Faughnan where she pleaded guilty to stealing €70 worth of baby food, alcohol, toys, and coke from SuperValu Strokestown.

The incident happened on February 27th, 2025 at about 5.30 p.m..

Sergeant Mark Mahon told the court she made no attempt to pay and left the shop.

The manager of the store was alerted and the goods were recovered in a saleable condition. The court heard that the accused, who has 58 previous convictions, is a mother of four.
