A local district court judge has warned Roscommon's teenagers not to become involved with drugs.
At the recent sitting of Roscommon District Court, local secondary school students sat in during the busy district court proceedings as part of a school visit.
During the sessions, Judge James Faughnan struck out a prosecution against a young man for a drugs possession offence. The young man had no previous convictions and had paid a donation to a local charity.
The judge welcomed the students to the court, saying he was happy to answer any of their questions following the sitting. He also warned them against becoming involved in the drug trade.
“I know there is lots of stuff out there,” he said, advising them not to go “near it”.
