Late Junior Hannon ‘a true gentleman’ and ‘a most dedicated and reliable volunteer’

Tributes have been paid to the late Patrick (Junior) Hannon whose sudden death occurred on Friday last.

Junior, as he was known, from 5 Meadowbrook, Ballyleague, and formerly Roscommon Town, will be sadly missed by his mother, Christina, wife, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. He was predeceased by his father P.J.

Roscommon Civil Defence said it was “with deep sadness that we received the news of the death of third officer, volunteer Junior Hannon. A true gentleman, the most dedicated and reliable volunteer, we were so lucky to have had him in Roscommon. He will be greatly missed by all.” 

Lanesboro Triathlon Club said it was “heartbroken by the sudden passing of a good friend and community volunteer, Junior Hannon. We wish to extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends. Rest in Peace.” 

Junior will be reposing at his home in Ballyleague (N39 AX70) on Sunday afternoon from 4 o’c until 7 o’c. Removal on Monday morning to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Ballyleague arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 o’c. Burial afterwards in St Coman’s Cemetery, Roscommon.
