Local GP wins prestigious award

A local GP practice has been named Rural Practice of the Year.
At the GP Buddy Awards last week, Dr Helen Fitzsimons of the Gurteen Family Practice, Sligo, won the prestigious award.
The award recognises rural practices, which have often been the most squeezed in recent years in Irish General Practice.
“Despite this, colleagues in rural areas continue to provide exemplary patient care,” GP Buddy said.
